Search Engine OptimizationSearch engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to and from a website via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") techniques. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it "ranks," the more searchers will visit that site. As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Reciprocal Link CampaignA Reciprocal Link is a mutual link between two objects, commonly between two websites to ensure mutual traffic. Example: Alice and Bob have websites. If Bob's website links to Alice's website, and Alice's website links to Bob's website, the websites are reciprocally linked. Website owners often submit their sites to reciprocal link exchange directories, in order to achieve higher rankings in the search engines. Reciprocal linking between websites is an important part of the search engine optimization process because Google uses link popularity algorithms (defined as the number of links that led to a particular page and the anchor text of the link) to rank websites for relevancy. Search Engine SubmissionSearch Engine Submission is how a webmaster submits a web site directly to a search engine. Search Engine Submission is often seen as a way to promote a web site. There are two basic reasons to submit a web site or web page to a search engine. The first reason would be to add an entirely new web site because the site operators would rather not wait for a search engine to discover them. The second reason is to have a web page or web site updated in the respective search engine. There are two basic methods still in use today that would allow a webmaster to submit their site to a search engine.
